My brain...no drugs required!
I did the study group/recitation thing on Sunday. About 20 showed and then about 6 stayed for the rest of the 2 hours. I thought it went ok...they say I'm making history at YCP, so we'll see!
I hate American history...and the prof! All we have been listening to is how the colonists became greedy slave owners. There is more to it than that, but he just keeps repeating the same ol' shit every time..."if the colonists weren't 'liberal' (meaning at that time, individual and private), then the conditions of the colonies made them that way. They (the colonists) slowly started to enjoy their "freedoms" while denying it to the slaves..." And how the reason for coming here because of the wish for religous freedom was bogus...and we really didn't want freedom of speech at that time...and how our economy was built on the backs of the slaves..yada yada yada! ALRIGHT, WE GET IT!!!! Geez, move on! Every other day, I dread going to his class.
Other than having to write a paper for IFL, do BioII homework, study for calculus and chemistry, working and having a family...I feel fine. Really! (drops over from *exhaustion*)

Sounds like another one of those cases of re-writing American History to reflect todays values. You are supposed to feel guilty for being an American. Not me...we make plenty of mistakes but America rocks!
Yikes!
no, i'm supposed to feel bad becuz i am a christian. that means i am truly not an american...according to this professor.
hmmmm...i wonder how he'd feel if you abolished freedom of religion and forced him to go to church? and then tell him that he is not an american becuz he isn't a christian.
i keep getting him, tho. semantically, he keeps screwing up. today he asked if there was anything we have learned (or know) that wasn't either read in a book or that someone told you.
get this...kyle and i said: i like pizza. no one would have to tell me, "this is pizza." in order for me to know whether i liked or not. all i'd have to do is taste it. he didn't like that...he he he
Maybe I just don't get him but it seems to me you learn a lot through life experiences like your pizza example. I learned to take a coat when I feel cold or umbrella when it looks like rain...what was his point? Does he mean you should doubt everything you read or are told? Well, I pretty much do, but that doesn't stop me from learning.
He sounds like he thinks Christians are hypocrites...it's a pretty big group to making generalizations about. Sounds like an intolerant ass.
Hey! Rush was just talking about this exact situation in South Florida(what are the chances...I haven't turned him on in over a year!)A woman was complaining about her daughters history teacher teaching that the founding fathers were all atheists...he won't allow God to be mentioned in class...all that you are dealing with. Rush suggested she take a copy of Washington's first Thanksgiving speech in to see what the teacher has to say about that. You can find it here if you want it
