I'm being a rebel!

So, what's that got to do with the cupcake? Well....the school now wants parents to use the cafeteria's birthday food---you know, for $10 you can have veggies and dip for your child's class to "enjoy." Yeah, because when my kid thinks of celebrations, he thinks "broccoli and carrots!"

So, not only am I sending in gooey, sugar-coated cupcakes...I am sending in Hi-C!

When did it become the school district's job to manage my son's caloric intake...or what we choose to send in for his birthday snack?

SHES tried that last year...after about a month, the teachers gave up. They think it's stupid, too. Wouldn't this be a great chance to teach moderation? When we celebrate we have 1 cupcake or cookie...not the whole box. Once again, they are going about it all wrong.

brad and i talked about this at lunch today. to tell you the truth, i have seen alot of "birthday treat" empties come out of the school already, so i think the teachers are not enforcing the suggestion...
