Well...

I fell pretty bad today. I got a 49 on my chem test, 72 on Bio, 76 on lab practical, 83 on my nutrition test. I can drop the chem grade, but it will be difficult to keep up the 70% I have in the class. I have solid B in bio and an A in Nutrition.

I am re-taking chem in the fall with a different teacher. My advisor was a little upset that I have to do that, but I told her there was no way I will take it again with Dr. Steel! She understood, and it won't hurt me to do it again.

I just feel crappy...very sad. Never flunked before in college; it's a horrible feeling!

Update...

Got a 76.5 on lab practical...gonna head to chem soon....most of the class failed the test. Betcha can't guess where I fall in that catagory.

BTW, brainiac Darlin' Daughter thought she tanked her Spanish exam...lil shit got a 100%! At least one of us is smart!

This is an actual exam answer!

Mid-term grades slowly trickle in!

Algebra test result: 88%! With homework, 89% Won't be long before an "A" will be there! Just waiting on Bio, Chem and Nutrition...not as hopeful for these grades. Oh, well!

For Momma Bear (hope this helps!)

Dreams that your teeth are falling out are the most common dreams we here at Dream Moods receive. Common dream scenarios include having your teeth crumbling in your hands or your teeth falling out one by one with just a light tap.

Such dreams are not only horrifying and shocking, but often leaves the dreamer with a lasting image of the dream. So what does it mean? One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in conveying that image. Teeth are used in the game of flirtations, whether it be a dazzling and gleaming smile or affectionate necking. These dreams may stem from a fear of your sexual impotence or the consequences of getting old. Teeth are an important feature of our attractiveness and presentation to others. Everybody worries about how they appear to others. Caring about our appearance is natural and healthy.

Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety.

Teeth are used to bite, tear, chew and gnaw. In this regard, teeth represent power. And the loss of teeth in your dream may be from a sense of powerlessness. Are you lacking power in some current situation? Perhaps you are having difficulties expressing yourself or getting your point across. You feel frustrated when your voice is not being heard. You may be experiencing feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some situation or relationship in your life. This dream is an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.

In the latest research, it has been shown that women in menopause have frequent dreams about teeth. This may be related to getting older and/or feeling unattractive and less feminine.Traditionally, it was thought that dreaming that you did not have teeth, represent malnutrition which may be applicable to some dreamers.

Farewell, Mr. Jeni

LOS ANGELES --
Richard Jeni, the well-known standup comic whose career spanned three decades, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, police said.
Jeni, 45, was found inside a Los Angeles home Sunday seriously injured, but still alive after police responded to the residence after receiving a call from Jeni’s girlfriend, who is a Los Angeles Police officer.
Norma Eisenman told police, “My boyfriend shot himself in the face,’ the LA Times reported.
Jeni, whose real name was Richard John Colangelo, died a short time later at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Jeni was constantly touring country with a stand-up act that had won him awards and entertained audiences since the late 1980’s. He had starred in several HBO comedy specials, most recently ‘A Big Steaming Pile of Me,’ which aired during the 2005-2006 season.
Another HBO special, Platypus Man, won a cable ACE awards for best comedy special.

Sometimes I just don't get it! Poor soul...may he finally have peace!

Oh, My First Amendment Hurts!

Freedom of speech; it's our constitutional right. Given this fact, why is everyone over-reacting to Ann Coulter's use of the word "fag?" Perhaps it's because the word itself is out-of-date and reflects a time in this country when being homosexual was considered taboo; or maybe it just reflects her own bad taste. Either way, folks are protesting and news outlets are distancing themselves from Ann Coulter.

The enigma of the conservative's love affair with Coulter has been a point of contention for most us who truly find the woman repulsive. She professes to be Christian but espouses very un-Christian-like attitudes and language. For example, her commentary of 9/11 widows, “I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much,” left most of America speechless.

Ann Coulter is crass, impolite, self-righteous, and mean. She is doggedly incorrect on most issues and is known to plagerize to sell a book. Ms. Coulter sees herself as desirable and is at the very least, vain. A quick look at her website will show she has no problem posting copious photos of herself, undoubtedly doing very important and life-enhancing things.

For all these reasons, she shouldn't be courted by any sane human-being. Yet, there are those who raise her to be a paragon of conservative values and give her an audience. This maybe why the consequences of her use of the "f" word will cost her in the long run. (We can only hope!)

I wonder, though, if it is truly wise to "pull" her column. Ann has every right to express her opinion. She can do it quietly in an article or abrasively on Fox News--it's her right. Should we not be a country where everyone is heard? Even if we don't agree? Even if the language is hurtful or condescending? Even when it shows a person's true colors?

We should encourage all forms of dissent; or assent for that matter. Being politically correct isn't in the constitution, free speech is! Heaven forbid I not be able to blog and post my opinions--and I have offended a person or two, from time-to-time.

Please don't misunderstand, I really, really hate Ann Coulter. She is a pimple on the ass of life. But I cannot justify denying her freedom of speech, or anyone else's. (I am of the humble attitude that you are what you reflect in all manners of speech and presence.) So...bring it on!

Awesome concert!

This is what the stringed orchestra played last night. It was soooo awesome! The director was jammin' and the head-banger parents were bangin'!

I'll take an "A" in nutrition, Alex!

Normally, I can't brag about my luck; but today Ican!

As per her ususal self, my nutrition professor gave us another pop quiz. Of course, I didn't read the chapter because I had eye surgery and I caught up on the other subjects.

So, we are asked to name the disease that comes from iodine deficiency. Well, I knew you get goiters from iodine deficiency, but I certainly didn't have the name of the "disease." So I wrote that you get goiters from iodine deficiency.

Guess what the disease is called...you got! "Goiter!" Talk about bullshittin' your way through a class...I really need this A!

I am so sad...

My friend, Brett, is going to die from congestive heart failure. I caught up with him and he said he hasn't let on to many people. I knew right away when I saw him. He has been given a year or so. His body is deteriorating rapidly and he has that "look." Brett is close to his 12 year-old daughter, Christie. He is sharing the journey with her; that is a wonderful thing!
Also, Pop Kroner died this weekend and I am very sad for my friends, Roy and Barb. They had Pop in hospice care, with the same people we had, so they were in good hands.
All these souls leaving again, makes me wonder if the universe is shifting!

This was a great concert!

Last night, we went to see the Newsboys in concert. They are just incredible! The drummer did a solo on a stage that tilted and spun him around!!!!

Well, the break is over!

I start back to my ususal routine tomorrow. I am kinda sad, as I enjoyed this week off. But I kept up with the homework and I am ready to go!
