since the first msg in my inbox was cnn breaking news... i'm guessing yes.
He's gone...now let's hope those nuts don't martyr him.
i'm not convinced executing saddam was an appropriate course of action... time will tell... meanwhile i'm attempting to sort through the mixed feelings i have about his execution... not his demise mind you, his execution
i am grateful he is gone...the tyranny he brought upon the iraqi people is beyond shameful.
and lets just leave it at that.
don't know if i CAN leave it at that...
what about the degradation, deprevation, demolishion, and and destruction dubya has hammered down upon their heads... is that not tyranny that has gone beyond shameful?
Saddam was a mass murderer of epic proportions and the world is better off without him. The US brought him down, but it was the Iraqi people who tried, sentenced, and executed him. It was their call. If you truly believe a chance for freedom in Iraq is worse than living under Saddam's brutality, I think you're way off...but that is what the media tries to project. Watch how nice they are in their coverage of him. It's disgusting.
i don't think she was saying they were better off with him in power. saying you have issues with the death penalty and having him still in power are two different things. you can agree with one and still have an issue with the other.
Well, I have issues with the death penalty...probably as much as anyone. I am a strong believer that life is far too valuable to be callously tossed away. One of the biggest problems of our society is the lack of respect we have for life. But i also see the value in removing the possibility that this tyrant could ever come back to power. His regime of brutality has nearly paralyzed the Iraqi people with fear. Maybe his death will give them the courage to take advantage of the opportunities they now have. It's ultimately up to them to take over the security of the area. I hope they can do it.
