Are lawn gnomes tacky?

These silent keepers of the garden...are they fashion? Trendy, yes. Travelocity has one as their spokesman/trademark. College students steal them for pranks and take photos of the gnome's adventures. Heck, I've seen them hanging precariously around a swimming pool of a friend!

While opinion varies from person to person, I think they are cute; but not in the front yard. I prefer the old lady bending over or the little boy peeing. The Marlboro Man sillouette is a favorite, too. These enhace the overall beauty of a garden and are sure to make a big impression on guests as they approach your home.

Keep in mind that pink flamingos, the perinnial favorite among garden designers, still are the No.1 best selling lawn ornament.

yikes... i'm not big on gnomes or bent-over butts... very few lawn ornaments ring my chimes... i like a naturalized landscape that allows the plantings to be the decor

careful...you'll get "flamingoed"...it's been happening in our neighborhood lately. It's like "Ghosting" but a huge flock of plastic flamingos ends up on your property!

there's a house in our neighborhood that had a whole flock on their lawn this spring... guess they flew south to your neighborhood
