How I learned to love coffee

Ever since I can remember, my Gramma drank coffee. When I was just a tot, she would load her coffee with milk and sugar and put it just within my reach. I remember sneaking off with her coffee and drinking it until it was almost all gone. I would leave just enough for her (about one little sip!). I would carefully place the cup back and tip-toe away.
When she'd reach for her coffee, Gramma would exclaim with a twinkle in her eye,"Now where did all my coffee go?"
I would giggle and pretend it wasn't me, but we both knew! So, she'd get up and fill it up again. And the game would go on until basically, I got a tummy-ache!
Gramma made the best coffee in the world!!!!

it's funny how every time i hear someone talk about a grandparent, inevitably something about food comes up. like with your pie and coffee. with my grandma it was girl bread and my grandpa it was bryers natural vanilla ice cream with salty pretzels. i wonder what lily's memory will be of lao-lao and grandpa's with regards to food. oooooh DOVES!!! i nearly forgot! :o)

i think it is a great idea that you will have pie and coffee. it sounds like that is just what she would have wanted.

indeed we do... i still remember the bakery truck that used to stop at my nonna's house... she used to let us pick and choose whatever kind of yummy treats we wanted from the baker's tray of goodies!
