Is it really worth it?

Surgery Death Exposes Dangerous Obsession
By MELISSA TRUJILLO, AP

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (Sept. 7) - Fabiola DePaula's quest for beauty took her to a condominium basement, where authorities say she paid an unlicensed doctor $3,300 for a nose job and liposuction performed on a massage table.

Is that me with Imbecillin and her family?

No, but man is that really scary. This photo was taken at Disney last summer and Imbecillin and her family noticed that my twin showed up in the background! (EW! I would never dress like that!!!)

Wish I could say BETA made me this happy!

Cute kids..huh?

Where has Momma Bear gone???

She has done a boo-boo...like me. Except she completely wiped herself off the blogging map! Come back soon, momma bear!

Who could not love this Little Miss Booh?

There is a dance mom who appearently Hates me! Thursday evening, we had our big group meeting at the studio. As things began to roll along, the discussion turned to the lounge area. This area is for the Ensemble dancers, primarily to store their stuff, gather, eat and relax. I raised my hand and began to bring up some issues that the girls have about the space. The conversation went on to the developement of good solutions. However, this particular ranted about me the whole way home in front of my other kid, Heather. She said I couldn't just keep my big mouth shut and had to act all generous and big by offering to get a tv and a dvd/vcr combo for the lounge. (I figured since my girls are the ones with the issues, I should at the very least offer up something!) I have not been able to give as much time...imagine! Let me say this...This woman's husband has been hammering away, literally, at the studio to get some of the studios up-to-date. So why is my offer any less out there than hers? I really think this comes down to a jealousy issue. My girls are better than her daughter, we can't stand her kid, so she isn't over here at all, and her husband is my friend! what do you all think?

Many Angry Men
Psychotherapist Jed Diamond says excessive moodiness can be caused by something called irritable male syndrome. Now he’s trying to convince skeptics that the condition is real—and treatable.
By Jennifer Barrett
Newsweek

Aug. 16, 2005 - Millions of lines have been written about how women’s hormonal changes can cause mood swings. But what about when men get irritable and withdrawn? Psychotherapist Jed Diamond believes they could be suffering from irritable male syndrome, a condition he says is affecting a growing number of men. No, it’s not a joke. Click on by-line to read the article. A very special thanks to Imbecillin for the article...I know I am not crazy!

No Photos! :o(

Blogger isn't posting photos again for me. I hate it! GRRRR!

Who says boys aren't moody???!!

My friend's husband is very much a moody boy. He's like a girl sometimes...not a bad thing, just a little unnerving. Well, my husband is a moody boy, too. Today, he is in one foul mood. Not sure what I have done to spark his ire, but it's there. I have learned that his expectations of me are very unrealistic. Even if I did meet an expectation, he'd find a way to raise the bar to make sure I know that I am not perfect. Don't get me wrong, I really don't care about meeting these so-called benchmarks of personal progress, I just hate being around him when he's like this! Let him sulk! It's his ulcer, not mine! I am beginning to get this whole "it's his issue, not mine" thing!

Well...I did it!

I enrolled at York College this morning. My tummy is flipping with butterflies! I hope I get in!!! What if they don't? Crap, that means I may have to go back to PSU!

A sweet little song....My best laugh of the Day!!!

I Love Little Pussy
I love little pussy,
Her coat is so warm,
And if I don't hurt her,
She'll do me no harm.
So I'll not pull her tail,But pussy and I,
Very gently will play.
History:
This poem was first seen in 1830 and its popularity has it appearing in almost every nursery rhyme collection. The rhyme tells a child how to treat his/her pets gently.
Ok...this morning at the Elementary School, a sixth grade teacher saw this song in a grade school book. She promptly showed it to the school secretary who was on the phone at the time. Later, when I got there to pick up Little Man, the secretary was showing the song to the elementary Band Director...you know, in case he needed a new song for the kids to play at the Spring concert. Well, they let me in on the secret and I thought I would pee my pants!!! The band director asked me if it would be considered sexual harrassment...I told him~"Only if you sing it!!!"

So, I guess I am a bio major!

I did some detective work today. I am getting my transcripts from Penn State sent to me. Tomorrow I need to inquire about an academic reccomendation from there...may not happen! However, before I am allowed to apply to JHU, I must complete all prerequisites. I only need anatomy, chemistry, microbiology and nutrition. All of which is offered at YCP. I am applying to YCP for January 2007, and at their reccommendation, as a full-time Biology major. This will enable me to apply for financial aid and get these courses out of the way. I believe I will more than likely have to take Biology first, but Truevalueman and I both think it's the best way to go. I am just amazed at how smooth this whole process has been---almost afraid of the other shoe dropping. The admissions office at JHU School of Nursing were super sweet and answered all my stupid questions today. I needed to know how to proceed; I asked and got the answers. JHU will accept my application for Fall of 2007, provided that I prove I will be finishing all pre-requisits by August. Just too fuckin' cool!!!

Is there a balance between Homeland Security and Individual Rights?

This was the topic of DD's Government paper tonight. She asked me what I thought and I said no. She agreed and said that she had just spend an hour going around in circles to say no. She was quite frustrated.
She did cite 2 specific times in American history when the balance had been shifted. The first being Lincoln's suspension on habeas corpus. DD noted the neccessity of Lincoln's decision to save America from itself. (The arrest of 13,000 "copperheads" did raise quite a few eyebrows about Lincoln's thirst for power.) Citing that history now reflects on Lincoln's wisdom and it's future ramifications.
Focusing on the shift of balance again, she recalled America's detention of Japanese-Americans in interment camps in the 1940's. A clear violation of individual rights without true justification.
I was impressed! Clearly, Darlin' Daughter is versed enough on American history and the constitution to make an eloquent response. She surprised me with her acceptance of squashing someone's first amendment rights. Her justification was if a person was purposely trying to rip the nation apart.
She's young and I told her I disagreed with her. DD was taken aback! (For never had I disagreed with her politically before!!) I told her we can disagree on this topic, and it is ok. She asked why I felt the why I did and I simply stated, "Because we may be closing the wrong mouth!"

It's not gonna go away!

The security warning cannot be eliminated. I tried. I read, I reformatted, I even went to Microsucks.com!!!! It's built in, so they say and cannot be removed. I am sorry! Hopefully someday it will just go away!

I am sooo excited!!!!!

After a lot of consideration and prayer, I am applying to nursing school. Today I heard from John Hopkins School of Nursing. I am setting up an appointment with the Admissions Director and will try to get my Penn State transcripts in the mean time! I really, really want to go to Hopkins!!! I am so excited about the whole thing! Since I have been doing a lot of legwork with Darlin' Daughter, I know what has to be done. It also looks like we will be getting a decent amount of money to help me get through! Yeah!!!

Iluvfreakychica meets Bill and Hillary!

Freakychica's hubby is in the Air Force and got to pose with the Clinton's yesterday! How cool is that??!!!

Been canning again!

Last week, I left a note at Brown's requesting to know when they were going to receive concord grapes from Naylor's vineyard. Jeff at Brown's called me and gave me close to 20# of concord grapes for a little over a $1 a pound. I have been busy making jelly and juice. I used agave nectar for the juice; made the juice real smooth! I love grape jelly and the grapes this year are as perfect as I have seen them in a long time! I think our summer was a great season for fruit! I have some peaches to can tomorrow and I am hanging up the chef's hat until apple season. I wanna can some pink applesauce!

School Shoppin'

We've been spending our weekend in and out of stores. Since all are on a budget, they have have been quite careful. Today, Old Navy had a special, buy $75, get $15 off...I had 2 coupons for a total of $50. We broke down the purchase to 4 separate purchases, as I couldn't use everything in one purchase. Darlin' Daughter's bill was reduced by $45, Samigurl's by $10 (she only owed me $6.50 after that), Gladys got $40 off her purchase and Brian got $45 off of his purchase as well. A bit more complicated to do, but we saved $140!!!
Last night at Kohl's, we hit their "power hour and received 15% off most of their stuff. Plus, I had another coupon for an additional 15% off. We saved over $100 last night!! I love to bargain shop. We couldn't have planned a better weekend to shop. All seem satisfied so far!

I did something really stupid!

Of course, you all know me, so that isn't a huge surprise. Well I switched my blog to BETA. Dumb idea! too new, too many glitches. So, I apologize for the inconveniences. If I get some time, I'll make a new blog under the old BLOGGER system.

This is how I feel about Back to School Night!

God, is there anything more boring than to have sit through the same shit every year? I was happy to see all my friends. Imbecillin wasn't there, and I had a gift for her! Oh well, her kids had these people last year. I like Sami's math teacher, and it was good to see her English teacher (Darlin'Daughter had him!). Other than that, I was completely bored. I wrote notes and passed them to my friend. I whispered when the teacher was talking. Perhaps this is why I didn't do so good in school!!!
