True Story!!!
False Doctor Held For Giving Free Breast ExamsApril 20, 2006 2:55 p.m. EST
Shaveta Bansal - All Headline News Contributor
Miami, FL (AHN) - A 76-year-old man, who claimed to be a doctor went door-to-door in a Florida neighborhood offering free breast exams, was charged with sexually assaulting two women who accepted the offer, police said on Thursday.
One woman became suspicious after the man asked her to remove all her clothes and began conducting an alleged genital exam without putting on rubber gloves, investigators said.
The woman then phoned the Broward County Sheriff's Office and the suspect fled. He was arrested at another woman's apartment in the same Lauderdale Lakes neighborhood on Wednesday, a sheriff's spokesman said.
According to Reuters, the white-haired suspect, Philip Winikoff, carried a black bag and claimed to be visiting on behalf of a local hospital.
Winikoff was not a doctor, sheriff's spokesman Hugh Graf said. He worked as a shuttle driver for an auto dealership.

Making A Loving Decision

Today we made the decision to move forward with Hospice Care for my grandmother. Hospice Care is no longer confined to those with terminal illnesses, but rather a large population who chose to die with dignity and at home. This decision mandates no more hospital visits. So Grandma will no longer have to endure poking and proding to find out that she is old and her body is weakening! As luck (or God) would have it, my old friend Kim showed up at the door today to do the assessment. Right away, I knew this was going to be O.K.!(Spacie: yes, another "Joyce" moment!) Admittance begins Sunday and care will start on Monday. We will have "on-call" services 24/7 with Medicare helping with the money aspect. Probably the last sacred ground Mr. Bush hasn't decimated in our health-care system! Thank You Spacie Gracy...I owe you so much! Photo is of Gramdma and baby Katherine in Leavenworth!

Hospice Defined

What Is Hospice Care?
Hospice is a concept rooted in the centuries-old idea of offering a place of shelter and rest, or "hospitality" to weary and sick travelers on a long journey. Dame Cicely Saunders at St. Christopher's Hospice in London first applied the term "hospice" to specialized care for dying patients in 1967. Today, hospice care provides humane and compassionate care for people in the last phases of incurable disease so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible.
Hospice is a philosophy of care. The hospice philosophy recognizes death as the final stage of life and seeks to enable patients to continue an alert, pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so that their last days may be spent with dignity and quality, surrounded by their loved ones. Hospice affirms life and neither hastens nor postpones death. Hospice care treats the person rather than the disease; it emphasizes quality rather than length of life. It provides family-centered care involving the patient and family in making decisions. Care is provided for the patient and family 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Hospice care can be given in the patient's home, a hospital, nursing home, or private hospice facility. Most hospice care in the US is given in the home, with a family member serving as the main hands-on caregiver. For more information, click the pic...

A Tale of Two Boos...

For those in the know, my nickname has always been Little Miss Boo. So when my neice acquired the nickname "Boo" as well...you can imagine the bond between us got stronger. Today I spent the day with my Boo for Grandparent's Day at her school. We ate homemade chocolate and drank sodas in the sun. Of course, we were the only ones decked out in Hawaiian leis; we told one lie after another--we said I came all the way from Maui. Who could doubt these faces???

Our Freedom May Be Lost IF These People Have Their Way...
In a move that could be just as upsetting to viewers as the idea to put commercials in between TV programs in the first place, Phillips has filed a patent that may force viewers to sit helplessly through commercials. The patent is expected to manipulate Multimedia Home Platform (MHP), the technology that runs most modern Television receivers and recorders. The idea looks to prevent users not only from fast-forwarding pre-recorded material but to also prevent users from even changing the channel. Click TiVo to read the gory details...

News we're not being told...

What is Depleted Uranium?
The misnamed 'Depleted' Uranium is left after enriched uranium is separated from natural uranium in order to produce fuel for nuclear reactors. During this process, the fissionable isotope Uranium 235 is separated from uranium. The remaining uranium, which is 99.8% uranium 238 is misleadingly called 'depleted uranium'. While the term 'depleted' implies it isn't particularly dangerous, in fact, this waste product of the nuclear industry is 'conveniently' disposed of by producing deadly weapons.
Depleted uranium is chemically toxic. It is an extremely dense, hard metal, and can cause chemical poisoning to the body in the same way as can lead or any other heavy metal. However, depleted uranium is also radiologically hazardous, as it spontaneously burns on impact, creating tiny aerosolised glass particles which are small enough to be inhaled. These uranium oxide particles emit all types of radiation, alpha, beta and gamma, and can be carried in the air over long distances. Depleted uranium has a half life of 4.5 billion years, and the presence of depleted uranium ceramic aerosols can pose a long term threat to human health and the environment. Umm...We ain't leaving Iraq...

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The fortress-like compound rising beside the Tigris River here will be the largest of its kind in the world, the size of Vatican City, with the population of a small town, its own defense force, self-contained power and water, and a precarious perch at the heart of Iraq’s turbulent future. for Momma and Poppa Bear
Computer programmer Clinton Curtis testified at the December 13th, 2004 Congressional hearing in Columbus, Ohio naming Republican Congressman Tom Feeney as the person who hired him to prepare vote-rigging software.
The programmer claims that he designed and built a "vote rigging" software program at the behest of then Florida Congressman, now U.S. Congressman, Republican Tom Feeney of Florida's 24th Congressional District.Clint Curtis, 46, claims that he built the software for Feeney in 2000 while working at a sofware design and engineering company in Oviedo, Florida (Feeney's home district).Click Here watch the video!

I've done my fourth and last DIARAMA!!!

Interior of a longhouse.
A fire was placed in the middle of the aisle in the center of each compartment for heating, cooking, and light. Smoke escaped from a hole left in the roof above it. A sheet of bark could be adjusted to cover the smoke hole in bad weather. When the smoke hole was closed, the high ceiling in the building allowed some of the smoke to rise above the living space. The two families shared the fire and the central aisle.
Each family had its own space on one side of the aisle for sleeping and storage of personal items. In the family space, a platform was built a foot or so above the floor to form a bench where they sat, slept and worked. It extended for most of the compartment’s length. The platform bench was closed at the ends by partitions. Storage closets filled the spaces along the wall that were not occupied by the benches. Another platform of the same size was built about five feet above the bench like a bunk bed. This shelf completed a cubicle, which was heated by the fire that was in the aisle. The inside of the wall was lined and insulated with woven mats or furs. The benches were also covered with mats and furs for comfort. The space under the bench generally was used to store firewood. The shelf above it was used to store clothes and other items. Braids of corn and sacks of other foods were hung in the high ceiling space. Other household goods were hung on the walls and partitions

Dear Mr. President,

Dear Mr. President, come take a walk with me. Let's pretend, we're just two people and you're not better than me. I'd like to ask you some questions; if we can speak hoestly. What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street? Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep? What do you feel when you look in the mirror? Are you proud? How do you sleep when the rest of us cry? How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say good-bye? How do you walk with your head held high? Can you even look me in the eye, and tell me why? Dear Mr. President, Were you a lonely boy? Are you a lonely boy? How can you say, "no child left behind?"We're not dumb and we're not blind. They're all sitting in your cells, while you pave the road to hell. What kind of father would take his daughter's right's away? And what kind of father might hate his own duaghter if she were gay? I can only imagine what the first lady has to sya...You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine! Let me tell you 'bout hard work: minimum wage with a baby on the way. Let me tell you 'bout hard work: rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away. Let me tell you 'bout hard work: building a bed out of a cardboard box. Let me tell you 'bout hard work, hard work, hard work! You don't know nothin' 'bout hard work! Hard work! Hard work!!!! How do you sleep at night? How do yo walk with your head held high? Dear Mr. President, you;d never take a walk with me...hmmmm....would you? written and sung by p!nk and the Indigo Girls.

I got to see this O'Keefe today at the Baltimore Musuem of Art. It was their only O'Keefe, sadly. I did see two Modrian's, loads of Matisse (yuck!) and some Warhols. I finally got to see a Giacometti...early and later sculptures. Momma Bear and I are gonna have to explore this beautiful gem so close to home!

Georgia O'Keefe

Perhaps the most progressive and influential of American female artists, Georgia O'Keefe was not by nature flambouyant. In fact, she craved solitude. Although her art is poetic, fluid and intimate, Miss O'Keefe herself was stoic, rigid and aloof. Proving that the art does not always imitate the artist. For more information click here.

I think these gals ROCK!!!
The Dixie Chicks are an American country music all-female trio.
They started their group in 1989 in Dallas, Texas. After years of struggle and some personnel changes, they achieved large-scale country and then pop commercial success starting in the late 1990s, with hit songs such as "Wide Open Spaces", "Cowboy Take Me Away", and "Long Time Gone". They are known for their lively group personae, instrumental virtuosity, and political outspokenness. Criticism of President George W. Bush in 2003 led to considerable controversy and a repudiation from some of their core country audience, the lasting effects of which remain to be seen.

Not Ready to Make Nice!!!!!!!!Forgive, sounds goodForget, I’m not sure I couldThey say time heals everythingBut I’m still waiting
I’m through with doubtThere’s nothing left for me to figure outI’ve paid a priceAnd I’ll keep paying
I’m not ready to make niceI’m not ready to back downI’m still mad as hell andI don’t have time to go round and round and roundIt’s too late to make it rightI probably wouldn’t if I could‘Cause I’m mad as hellCan’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should
I know you saidCan’t you just get over itIt turned my whole world aroundAnd I kind of like it
I made my bed and I sleep like a babyWith no regrets and I don’t mind sayin’It’s a sad sad story when a mother will teach herDaughter that she ought to hate a perfect strangerAnd how in the world can the words that I saidSend somebody so over the edgeThat they’d write me a letterSayin’ that I better shut up and singOr my life will be over
I’m not ready to make niceI’m not ready to back downI’m still mad as hell andI don’t have time to go round and round and roundIt’s too late to make it rightI probably wouldn’t if I could‘Cause I’m mad as hellCan’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should
